Absence notification for Odoo
This module allows you to configure absence notifications for a defined period of time.
The definition of a responsible contact for an object and the configuration of the absence notification allows you to send the absence notification, if you are out of the office. If an internal employee writes a message, he or she receives the absence notification from the absent object owner and from all absent followers of the object. If an external contact writes a message, he or she receives the absence notification from the absent object owner.
Setting up responsible contacts
Navigate to the general settings and activate the developer mode. In the settings you will now find the menu item "Technical". There you navigate to "Responsible contact". Here you can define the responsible contact for each object, which has a relation to a partner.
Setting up your absence notification
Navigate to your profile to the menu item "Preferences" or "My profile". Scroll down to "Absence notification" and click "Add a line". Here you have the possibility to configure your personal absence notification by defining a title, the start and end date as well as the message. Then click on "Save & Close". In your preferences you also have the option to deactivate and reactivate the absence notification or to create another one. Now click on "Save" again to save your changes.
Alternatively, you can also configure the absence notification under "Settings" --> "Users and companies" --> "Users". Here you select your user and go to the tab "Absence notification". This assumes, that you have the rights to edit users' settings.
Write a message and receive the absence notification
After configuring the responsible contact and the absence notification, internal employees are notified of your absence as soon as they send a message to an object, in which you are the responsible contact or a follower. The internal employee receives the notification in the inbox in Odoo, if he has selected the option in his settings. Otherwise he will receive the notification in his e-mail inbox. If an external contact replies to a message from an Odoo object, it also receives an absence notification as soon as the responsible contact for the object is absent.
