Install Google Ads + GA4 eCommerce Pro, open Sales → Configuration → Google Ads + GA4 → Dashboard, stay in Demo, then open Event Logs. The dashboard explains Demo vs Live and each event. Demo hits never call Google.
What this module adds
One Community app for GA4 eCommerce and Google Ads conversions. Demo mode logs hits locally. Live injects gtag.js with your Measurement ID (G-…) and Ads ID (AW-…). Events: page_view, view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, add_payment_info, purchase and refund. Consent Mode v2 with the native cookies bar. Pair with Meta Pixel eCommerce Pro. You bring your own Google tag.

How it works
- Demo first — Sales → Configuration → Google Ads + GA4 → Dashboard. Stay in Demo. Tiles, funnel and Event Logs show hits with zero HTTP to Google.
- Open Website → Configuration → Google Ads + GA4 → Event Logs. You should already see page_view through refund from the Demo seed.
- Browse the shop as a public visitor (not an internal user). view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, add_payment_info and purchase write to Event Logs.
- Post a customer credit note. Demo logs refund locally. Live can send Measurement Protocol when the GA4 API secret is set.
- When you go live, turn Demo off and paste your GA4 Measurement ID (
G-…) and Google Ads ID (AW-…). Optional purchase conversion label. - Keep the cookies bar on for Consent Mode v2. You bring your own Google tag — there is no WebbyCrown ads plan.

FAQs
Does this require Odoo Enterprise?
No. It installs on Odoo 15 Community with Sales. Website tracking (gtag, page_view, consent) activates when Website is installed. Shop events fire when eCommerce (website_sale) is installed.
Why don’t I see events when logged in as admin?
Internal Odoo users are skipped on purpose. Log out or use a private / public visitor session to test tracking.
Does Demo call Google?
No. Demo stubs gtag locally and never loads googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com or googleadservices.com. Turn Demo off to go live.
Which product ID should I use?
Match the identifier you use in Google Merchant / GA4 item_id. Variants usually need Product Variant ID or Barcode; simple products can use Template ID or Internal Reference.
Where are event logs stored?
Enable Internal Event Logs on the Google Ads + GA4 settings tab, then open Sales → Configuration → Google Ads + GA4 → Event Logs.
