MX Reports DIOT (2025)

This module extends the DIOT (Declaración Informativa de Operaciones con Terceros) report functionality in Odoo for Mexican taxpayers. It implements additional fields for the 2025 version of the DIOT, ensuring the .txt file complies with the new SAT requirements. Among these are special handling for border zones (8% tax), partner classification (national, foreign, global), and extra columns for distinguishing IVA no acreditable, exento, or no objeto operations.

Usage

  1. Configure your partners with the appropriate tax information, including:

    • RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes).
    • Address (especially the state if they apply to border regions).
    • Type of operation and type of third party (national, foreign, global).
  2. Set up the 8% border tax:

    • Select your preferred handling in Invoicing/Accounting > Configuration under the DIOT Report section. Here, you'll find a new field called 8% Border Tax Handling with two options:

Configuration of 8% border tax handling
      1. Use a single 8% tax (determined by state) – Select one 8% tax in Odoo, and the module will rely on the partner’s state (e.g., "Baja California", "Chiapas", etc.) to decide whether it belongs to the northern or southern border. Note: A warning will appear if the partner's state is not correctly set while using this method.
      2. Use separate 8% taxes for north/south – Create or map two different 8% taxes (one for the northern border and one for the southern border). Make sure to assign the corresponding DIOT tax tag (e.g., DIOT: 8% FN or DIOT: 8% FS) so that the report correctly identifies which region the tax belongs to. Users will then manually select the appropriate tax line on each invoice or purchase.
Configuration of 8% border tax handling
  3. New DIOT 2025 fields:

    • No objeto vs. exento vs. no acreditable breakdown, matching the new columns requested by SAT.
    • Separate columns for acts in the border region (north or south).
    • Ability to report activities no objeto whether in national territory or without establishment in Mexico.
    • Automatic netting of refunds and discounts, where applicable.
  4. Generate the DIOT file from the Accounting menu. The module will produce a .txt file (UTF-8 encoded), following the official SAT structure for 2025.

  5. Validate or upload the .txt file to the SAT's DIOT tool. Ensure your operations are correctly reported before final submission.
