Pick the fiscal year in the top bar. Everything else stays out of sight.
A Financial Year switcher next to the company switcher. Invoices, orders, transfers and payslips dated outside the years you select are hidden by record rules, in every list, report, export and API call.
One year at a time, or several
- Works like the company switcher: tick one fiscal year or several, and every screen follows.
- Enforced, not filtered: records outside the selection are hidden by record rules, so a search filter can't bring them back.
- Any dated model: journal entries, payments, sales and purchase orders, transfers, manufacturing orders, payslips, or your own.
- Your fiscal calendar: years start in the month you choose, such as July or April, and the new year is added when it starts.
- On mobile too: the switcher is in the phone menu.
Your Financial Years
Decide who sees past years
- Users in the Access all Financial Years group can select every year. Settings and Accounting administrators have it.
- Everyone else sees the current year, plus any year you mark Open to all users.
- The same limits apply to the web client, exports, XML-RPC and AI assistants connected over MCP. An AI assistant has no switcher, so it sees every year its user may open, not just the selected one.
- Instead of Odoo's "top-secret records" message, users are told which year a record is in and what to do.
A message that says what to do
Opening balances stay right
Hiding last year's entries must not change this year's opening balance. On Odoo Enterprise, the Partner Ledger, General Ledger, Trial Balance and Aged Receivable and Payable still add up every earlier year, while showing only the selected year's lines.

Set up in three steps
- A setup wizard opens after install. Nothing is hidden until you apply it.
- It reads your fiscal year end from Accounting and finds your earliest records.
- Tick the models to scope. Journal entries bring their journal items along, and transfers their stock moves.
- Check the years and record counts, choose which past years are open to everyone, and apply.

What it doesn't do
- It doesn't run on Odoo Online (SaaS). You need Odoo.sh or your own server.
- There is one fiscal calendar per database, not one per company.
- Years start on the 1st of a month.
- It hides records; it doesn't lock them. Use Odoo's lock dates to stop posting in a closed period.
- The opening balance fixes apply to Odoo Enterprise's accounting reports. Community has no such reports, and the switcher works the same there.
Good to know
- Portal customers are never affected: they see all their invoices and orders as before.
- Uninstalling removes every rule it added, and all your records are visible again.
- Works on Community and Enterprise.
