WHY eIDAS
Not every electronic signature holds up in court.Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS) defines three legal tiers of electronic signature. Native Odoo Sign — like most e-signature tools — only produces a Simple Electronic Signature (SES): valid for low-risk paperwork, but its evidentiary weight can be challenged, and the burden of proof falls on you. A Qualified Electronic Signature (QES), issued through a certified Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP) such as itsme® or Evrotrust, is the only signature type eIDAS grants the same legal effect as a handwritten signature, automatically recognised across all 27 EU member states — no extra proof required. For sales contracts, HR agreements, high-value purchase orders or anything you may need to enforce later, that legal certainty is exactly what this connector adds on top of Odoo — something the native Sign app cannot offer. |
