Margin Control & Sold Below Cost: stop the order before the loss happens
Odoo lets you price a product under its cost and says nothing. This finds them, and stops the sales order before the loss happens, on rules you set for your own business.
What it does
Your rules, your floor
Set a minimum margin per company, per product category, or per product. Not one global number that fits nobody.
Warn or block
A warning the salesperson can read, or a hard block that stops confirmation. Your call, per rule.
Explicit override only
Nobody is silently allowed through. Permission to override is granted deliberately, not inherited by being an administrator.
Finds dead pricelist rules
Pricelist rules that can never apply because an earlier rule always wins. They look live and have never once been used.
Reads cost the way Odoo does
The same cost field Odoo uses, so the number matches every other report.
No external service
Arithmetic on data already in your database.
How it works
- 1
Install it
Nothing is blocked until you write a rule. - 2
Look at Product Margins
Sorted worst first, so the damage is visible. - 3
Write your margin rules
Company-wide, by category, or per product. - 4
Choose warn or block
And who, specifically, is allowed to override.
The products losing money
Pricelist rules that can never apply
Requirements
- Odoo 14 through 19, Community or Enterprise.
- Depends on Sales and Inventory, both standard.
- Odoo Online cannot run third-party modules containing Python, so this needs Odoo.sh or a self‑hosted install.
Support
Email support for every version listed above, from the people who wrote it. Every release is certified against real Odoo images before it ships, and the test count is stated on this page rather than implied.
Questions
Will this block orders the day I install it?
- No. Nothing is blocked until you write a rule and choose block rather than warn.
Can administrators always override?
- No, and that is deliberate. Override is an explicit permission, or a block would mean nothing.
Which Odoo versions are supported?
- Every listed version is certified on each release by installing the module into a real Odoo image of that series and running the full test suite. A version is only listed once it passes.
Does this work on Odoo Online?
- No. Odoo Online cannot run third-party modules containing Python, which is Odoo's rule rather than ours. Odoo.sh and self-hosted installs are fine.
What does support cover?
- Installation problems, defects, and questions about how the module behaves, by email, for the versions listed on this page. Custom development and changes to Odoo core behaviour are separate work.
How do I report a problem?
- Email support@tripsterdevelopers.com with your Odoo version, the module version, and what you did. If a job failed, the job record holds the exact payload and the error, which answers most questions immediately.
