POS Product Drag
Arrange your POS products with a simple drag.
Move product tiles directly on the product screen. Each drop saves the order for the current POS configuration.
Odoo 19 Automatic saving Separate order per POS
Feature illustration. Your product tiles use your existing Odoo POS layout.
Put products where your team expects them
Different counters serve different needs. Arrange the product screen to suit each POS, directly where your team works.
Organize visually
Managers can move frequently used products into convenient positions by dragging their tiles. There is no reorder button to enable and no separate screen to open.
Give each POS its own order
Keep drinks near the beginning of a bar's product group and arrange a retail counter differently. Changes are saved on the selected POS configuration.
Feature highlights
Drag directly on the product screen
Choose a product tile and drag it to a new position within its displayed group. The drag gesture starts reordering automatically.
Save automatically after each drop
The module saves the new order to Odoo and refreshes the displayed order when the server confirms the save. No additional Save button is needed.
Independent POS configurations
Reordering products in one POS does not change another configuration's saved order or the global product sequence.
Mouse and touch gestures
Drag with a mouse, or briefly hold a tile and move it on a touchscreen. A normal click or tap continues to add the product to the cart.
Manager-controlled changes
Only users with Point of Sale manager permissions can save a new order. Existing Odoo access and company rules remain in effect.
Work with category groups
Existing category grouping is preserved. Reorder products within a displayed group, while filtered-out products retain their relative order.
Drag. Drop. Continue selling.
01 / Choose a product
Open POS as a Point of Sale manager. Find the tile you want to move in the product screen.
02 / Drag to a new position
Drag with your mouse. On touchscreens, hold briefly for about 300 milliseconds, then move the tile within the same group.
03 / Drop to save
Release the tile. The order saves automatically for this POS, and the product grid updates after confirmation.

| Café counter | Coffee → Water → Juice | Saved for Café counter only |
Illustrative example. Other open sessions of the same POS configuration pick up saved changes after reloading.
Setup and requirements
- Install POS Product Drag on Odoo 19 with Point of Sale installed.
- Restart Odoo and reload the POS to load the module assets.
- Open POS with a user who has Point of Sale manager permissions, then drag a product tile.
Connection: An active connection to the Odoo server is required to save. If saving fails, the previously saved order is retained.
Hosting: Requires an environment supporting custom addons, such as Odoo.sh or an on-premise installation.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to enable a reorder mode?
No. Managers can drag tiles directly. Normal clicks and taps continue to add products to the cart.
Will my changes affect other POS configurations?
No. Each configuration stores its own product order. Multiple sessions using that same configuration share its saved order after reloading.
Can products be dragged into another category?
Dragging reorders tiles within the displayed group. It does not change category assignments.
How are favorites and new products ordered?
The saved product order takes priority over favorites, including in search results. Configurations without a saved arrangement start from the standard product sequence. Newly added products follow saved products until reordered.
Does touch dragging change the long-press gesture?
For managers, holding a tile is used for dragging instead of opening the product long-press information popup. Users without manager permissions retain their normal product interactions.
