Daily RSD exchange rates: official NBS list by default, commercial bank lists optional
Built for Odoo Community, where automatic currency rates are not built in — works on Enterprise too.
What it does
- Fetches the daily exchange-rate list with a scheduled action. Default source: the official National Bank of Serbia list. Alternative sources: Alta Banka (commercial spreads scraped from the bank's website) or any custom endpoint speaking the module's JSON contract.
- Stores all five published rates per currency and day: buy / middle / sell for wire transfers (devize) and buy / sell for cash (efektiva), including the quote parity (e.g. JPY is quoted per 100 units) and the source of each row.
- Writes the middle rate into the standard
res.currency.rate— the table Odoo itself uses everywhere — so multicurrency invoicing, vendor bills, pricelists, eCommerce and reporting convert at the official rate with nothing else to set up. Designed for companies with RSD as base currency. - Everything is configured from a normal settings page under Accounting → Configuration → Settings → Serbian Exchange Rates: source, custom endpoint, currency-rate sync, ECB feed override. No developer mode needed.
- Keeps full history: one record per currency per day, browsable under Accounting → Configuration → Serbian Exchange Rates, with a "Fetch rates now" button for manual refresh.
- Historical backfill of past rates from the official NBS list.
Multicurrency invoicing
Supported out of the box. An EUR customer invoice, a USD vendor bill or a foreign-currency pricelist converts at the NBS rate published for that document's date. Two things to know: Odoo stores a single rate per currency per day, so conversion always uses the NBS middle rate (bank buy/sell spreads stay in this module's own table, for reference); and Odoo's built-in Automatic Currency Rates is an Enterprise feature, so on Community this module is what keeps your rates current instead of manual entry.
Configuration
- No configuration required: install, set your company currency to RSD, activate the currencies you need (EUR, USD, CHF, …), done — NBS is the default source.
- Everything below is editable from Accounting → Configuration → Settings; the underlying system parameters remain available for scripted setups.
rs_fx.rate_source = nbs | alta | custom— choose the daily source.rs_fx.custom_url— endpoint URL when the source iscustom.rs_fx.update_currency_rates = 0— keep the rates in their own table without touchingres.currency.rate.rs_fx.ecb_url— redirect the stock ECB provider of Automatic Currency Rates to a self-hosted ECB-format feed.
External services
This module retrieves publicly published exchange rates over HTTPS from a public mirror of the National Bank of Serbia rate list (kurs.resenje.org) and, when selected as source, from altabanka.rs (Alta Banka a.d. Beograd) or a custom endpoint you configure. No customer data is collected or transmitted — requests contain nothing but the date of the requested rate list.
