Odoo Backdate Management
Odoo Backdate Management provides a centralized solution for backdating important business
documents across Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, Payments, and Scrap operations. It
allows authorized users to assign a specific historical date to supported documents while
keeping related operational and accounting dates synchronized according to the configured
workflow.
The module supports backdating for Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Delivery Orders, Receipts,
Customer Invoices, Vendor Bills, Credit Notes, Payments, Batch Payments, and Scrap Orders.
Administrators can configure which related documents should receive the same backdate, such
as applying a Sales Order date to its deliveries and invoices or synchronizing a Purchase
Order with receipts and vendor bills.
The module provides dedicated Server Actions for Sales Orders, Purchase Orders,
Delivery Orders, Receipts, Invoices, Bills, Credit Notes, Payments, Batch Payments, and
Scrap Orders. Authorized users can select multiple records and launch the Backdate Wizard
directly from the list view, making bulk backdating faster and more convenient.
Security is managed through dedicated Odoo user groups, allowing administrators to control
who can perform each type of backdate operation. Separate permissions are available for
Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Delivery/Receipt operations, Invoices/Bills/Credit Notes,
Payments, Batch Payments, and Scrap Orders.
The module also maintains a dedicated Backdate Log containing the original date, new backdated date, document, user, reason, and timestamp. This provides greater transparency and helps businesses track historical date changes for operational control and auditing.
