Stop Choosing Between Email and Odoo
Out of the box, Odoo's User Preferences only allow one channel for chatter notifications: "Handle by Emails" or "Handle in Odoo". Pick email and you miss real-time Discuss updates; pick Odoo and you miss anything sent while you're away from the app. This module adds the missing third option, "Handle by Emails and Odoo", so a user gets both - the message lands in their Discuss Inbox exactly like today, and a real email is queued and sent for the same update, every time.

A Genuine Third Option
"Handle by Emails and Odoo" appears automatically next to the two stock choices, in both the user's own Preferences dialog and the admin Users form. No extra settings screen to find.
True Dual Delivery
One chatter event produces one real Discuss Inbox notification and one real queued email for the same user - not one channel silently standing in for the other.
Zero Double-Counting
The Discuss inbox / needaction badge counts each notification exactly once, precisely like a plain "Handle in Odoo" user. No inflated counters, no duplicate list entries.
Built on Odoo's Own Pipeline
Routes through the stock mail.thread inbox and email hooks - nothing is bypassed or re-implemented. Portal/share restrictions and web push keep working exactly as before.

Pick "Handle by Emails and Odoo"
Open My Profile › Preferences (or the Users form as an admin) and select the new third option under Notification. It sits right alongside the two stock choices.
It Lands in the Discuss Inbox
Every mention, comment, or followed-record update shows up in the Discuss Inbox and messaging menu exactly like a "Handle in Odoo" user - counted once, not twice.
The Same Update Arrives by Email
At the same time, a real email is queued and sent for that exact update - so nothing is missed on days spent away from Odoo, with no manual forwarding or extra apps.
