With a SKU Auto Generator you can automatically create SKUs for products rather adding a mismatched of SKU’s that are manually created in Odoo. This extension is ideal for organizations that do not have fixed SKUs in Odoo. It helps generating automatic SKU’s with the sequence you select making sure uniformity in your product SKU’s This Extension is compatible with both Enterprise and Community Editions of Odoo version 10.

After installation Auto SKU Generator Module

You can go in settings and activate the developer mode

After activating the developer mode you will be able to see Product SKU Configuration Menu which you can click

After Opening the Product SKU Configuration form

You can create the name of your configuration, Supplier, Product, Attribute options, Sequence and use of Hyphens which we will detailed in below examples

For this presentation purpose we will create a supplier in Odoo with all the information

SKU Configuration Based on Supplier Name

There are 2 Options for configuring the supplier initials in your SKU 1. First two letter In this case if the supplier name is Trendygrabs the SKU will carry the first 2 initials “TR” 2. Define on Supplier In this case the shortname define in Odoo will be carry in the SKU example – Trendygrabs = Supplier name ShortName = TG then the SKU will Carry “TG”

SKU Configuration Based on Product Name

Based on the number of alphabets you define the SKU will carry the product name
Example if Product name is Iphone 7 then SKU will carry the alphabets “ipho” in case 4 letters are selected

SKU Configuration Based on Attributes Options

First letter - In this case you select the attributes option based on first letter
Example product color is Black
Size is medium
Then the SKU will carry the first letter “B” and “M” “B-M”
First 2 letters - In this case you select the attributes option based on first 2 letter
Example product color is White
Size is XL
Then the SKU will carry the first letter “Wh” and “xl” “wh-xl”

Requesting an Overtime and its processSKU Configuration Based on Sequence Number

The sequence you select the numbers will be carry in the SKU based on the number of products you can select the sequencing number
Example –
tg-pho-wh-32-00001 | tg-pho-wh-32-0001 and so on . . . .

Use Hypens

You can also select if you want to use hypens in your sku numbers If you use hyphen the sku will look like this “tg-pho-wh-32-00001”
Without hyphens the sku will look like this “tgphowh3200001”
