Remote Module Management
The Remote Module Management allows you to access other server and manage the install/uninstall/upgrade process with the help of âXMLRPCLIBâ a bridge between the remote server and your module. Again, if you want to control the module of another server you need to have the credentials of admin login and IP address.
Prerequisites before Installation
No prerequisites needed.
Go to Settings > Technical > Remote Module Management
The first step after installing this module will be connecting to the remote instance via URL. As shown in the below image there is a connection URL mentioned to connect with another server.
Moving to another step you need to complete the authentication process. If you donât have the email id or password you wonât be able to complete the further authentication. Login with that user which has access right of module management like Administrator with database selection.
After authentication is completed you need to select the module and you will be displayed the state of the module. As of whether it is already installed or is not installed. Accordingly, you will be displayed with the buttons below for instance if a module is already installed then you will be displayed with Uninstall/Upgrade.
Now lets consider a situation where Odoo VOIP isnât installed in the remote server and letâs try installing.
Now let's install CRM VoIP module via this module. For that select CRM VoIP and click on Install button.
After having installed the module remotely, let's check it in http://localhost:1111 instance whether it is installed or not. As shown in the image you can acknowledge that the module is installed.
