Period Lock


This Module is used to Block all Journal Entries within the given Date Range for the selected Journal(s).


Using this application, we can lock a period to prevent posting of transactions that may affect the transactions when we are try to close the same for the locked period.

Period Lock Features


Blocks respective Journal Entries of Selected Journal(s) within the given Date Range.

'Unlock' option available to revert the lock when required

'Reset to Draft' option provided to Edit the Date Range.

'Reset to Draft' option is automatically disabled when Current Date precedes or excedes, 'From Date' or 'To Date' respectively.

Works with Multi Company architecture

Organized and Efficient to use.

No configurations required.


Work Flow of Period Lock Module


To find the period Lock Menu, please find the below

    Go to Invoicing (or Accounting) module.

    Under 'Period Lock' menu, Choose 'Period Lock Form'.





Please proceed with the following to create a Period Lock for the Journals

    Click on 'Create' button and Search & Select the required Journals, Respective user's Company will be auto filled.

    Select the Date Range to lock the Journals.





Select the Date Range to lock the Journals

    If 'To Date' is prior to 'From Date', the below Warning will be popped up for the same.





If Period Lock is already created for the Selected Journals with in the Same Date Range

    The Below mentioned warning will be popped up for the same.





Once Period Lock is created, You can go ahead locking the Journal Entry transactions by clicking on 'Lock' button.

    Clicking on Lock button, State will be moved to Locked and it will not allow to Validate the entries for the Selected Journals.





When the Journal Entry are tried to be validated for Locked Journal(s) with in the given Date Range.

    The Below mentioned Warning will be popped up for the same.

    Clicking on Reset to Draft button, the below warning will be popped up if 'To Date' is prior to Current Date.
