manaTec Merge Tool
This module provides the possibility to merge data sets within all models.
Sometimes existing data records are created multiple times by mistake. It is difficult for the user to clean up this mess. This module offers a fairly simple way to clean up duplicate entries.
Attention! A merge is usually irreversible. For this reason this module offers the possibility to create a log file. This allows you, your administrator or us to undo your operation under certain circumstances.
For security reasons, the Merge Tool is disabled for most models. Only when we know which modules you use in your system, we can make the appropriate configuration. Please contact us for the correct configuration!

How to find the right model?
Best way
- Activate the developer mode
- Go into an overview where you see the records that have duplicates
- Open one record in the form view
- Click on the bug-symbol and open the metadata
If you do not know where to find the view but know where the records of the model are referenced
- Activate the developer mode
- Hover over the field
- Look at the relation
Select the Model
Enter the technical name of the model into the selection
Second Step Record Selection
In this example there are two titles "Mister" and one title "Mr.".
You can choose which of the titles is the correct one, but you should prefer the one that is correctly configured and should continue to be used.
If a value is missing in a field of the target record and one of the records to be merged has that value, it will be merged with the target record.
First select the Target data set.
Then add records for merging via "Add a line".
Optional: in this step you can create a log file.
Click "Merge" to start the merge and "Cancel" to cancel the merge.
For your own safety, you must confirm a second time that you want to merge the records.
Final step and what to do with the log file
If the checkbox for creating the log file was set, you can now download a file.
You can now open this file with a text editor.
If you want to undo the merge, please contact us and we will show you how it works.
In the example, (name:"Mr.", shortcut:False) and (name:"Mister", shortcut:"Mr.") were merged into (name:"Mister", shortcut:False).
