OCR recognition should provide reliable results to reduce manual entry and post-processing to a minimum. With the template knowledge of Getmyinvoice.com you can achieve the best possible automation results. Image (.png, .jpg) pictures,.pdf or even csv and excel can be recognized by GMI. Furthermore you don't have to take care to download all your invoices from different portals. Also attachments (invoices or any other) from emails can be automatically imported into GMI.
The connector imports pdf attachments and sets it with the right metadata to a draft invoice in odoo. The Odoo GMI connector empowers Odoo users to import invoices and match them with the partner, set the expense account and get all meta data just by importing. With this set up your accounting can manage 100 invoices in less than 0,5h of work.
Another interesting feature is the automatic bank import (for many banks) and transaction matching. Getmyinvoices is already matching invoices with bank transaction lines in Getmyinvoices. GMI connector can import those matching id and auto reconcile transactions with bank statements in Odoo.

This module is compatible with both Community and Enterprise versions.
GMI is the maybe best OCR recognition tool at low cost rate. Due the fact that GMI knows exactly the template of the portal where it downloads the invoices it is more reliable and accurate compared to usual OCR. There are many more features that have huge advantages. Check out the GMI website. Also GMI can read almost every document type from images, sheets, docs to of course pdf very accurate.
While Odoo Enterprise OCR is continuing to improve their technique it is on a reasonable level. The Nr. 1 problem is that Odoo technique doesn't know the vendor of the bill and has to find the right template every time you upload a new invoice. It is learning but can never achieve the same level of a pre-selected invoice OCR system like GMI. Also the time aspect is relevant in terms of mass invoice upload that is much faster in GMI.
Last but not least the bank statement can be imported and matched transactions/invoices can be imported in odoo. No further reconciliation is needed.
