JasperReports is an open source Java reporting tool that can write to a variety of targets, such as: screen, a printer, into PDF, HTML, Microsoft Excel, RTF, ODT, comma-separated values (CSV) or XML files.

If I want to use this module, do I need to get an entire server, or can one use the Jasper Starter found here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/jasperstarter which means it would not need an entire server, but just a command line execution. Thanks

you need the server https://sourceforge.net/projects/jasperserver/ this module will use the jasper server REST API
