Roman Numeral Date Legend for Odoo Sequence

Professionalize your document numbering with Roman Numerals!

By default, Odoo sequences only support numeric legends for months and years. However, many businessesâespecially in legal, accounting, or administrative sectorsârequire Roman Numerals in their document sequences (e.g., Invoices, Memos, or Certificates).

This module seamlessly extends the default Odoo sequence functionality, allowing you to use Roman Month (I-XII) and Roman Year in your custom prefixes or suffixes.

Example Output:
INV/XII/MMXXIV/001

Key Features

Roman Month

Use %(month_roman)s to get I, II, III... until XII.

Roman Year

Use %(year_roman)s to get MMXXIV (2024), etc.

Plug & Play

No configuration needed. Works out of the box with standard Odoo sequences.

How to use

1. Go to Settings > Technical > Sequences & Identifiers > Sequences.

2. Select the sequence you want to modify.

3. Use %%(month_roman)s or %%(year_roman)s in the Prefix or Suffix fields.
