Which AI clients are officially supported?
Seven first-class clients with a copy-paste snippet: Claude Desktop, Claude Code CLI, claude.ai (Web), ChatGPT (Custom Connectors, Developer Mode), Cursor, Continue.dev, and Gemini CLI. Plus any MCP-spec-compliant client (Cline, Windsurf, Zed, MCP Inspector, n8n, custom webhooks) works without per-client setup.
Do I need Node.js, Redis, or a stdio bridge?
No. The server is a regular Odoo HTTP controller at
POST /odoo/mcp. No second process to deploy. No
separate cache layer. Your existing Odoo deployment story already
covers it.
Which Odoo versions are supported?
Targets Odoo 19.0 Community and Enterprise. Each release is sold separately per Odoo App Store policy.
Does the AI bypass Odoo’s access rules?
No. Every call runs as the user attached to the connection
and honors ir.model.access.csv, ir.rule record rules,
and field-level groups=. The AI never sees data the user
wouldn’t see in the Odoo UI.
How are bearer API keys stored?
Hashed at rest, displayed once at issue, with a prefix lookup for constant-time matching. The plaintext key never returns from the database after the issue wizard.
What stops the AI from doing something destructive?
You decide which actions the AI can run, restrict access by IP, cap daily usage, and turn on human approval for anything sensitive — the AI pauses mid-task until a person opens MCP Server → Approval Requests and clicks Approve or Reject.
Will indexing my attachments raise my OpenAI bill?
No. The Knowledge Base does the retrieval, your AI client does the inference. The Odoo host doesn’t proxy to any external LLM. Your existing Claude / ChatGPT / Gemini subscription covers the answer.
Does Knowledge respect record-level ACLs?
Yes. Chunks are filtered against the calling user’s ACLs on the source document — an HR-only handbook never leaks to a non-HR user, even if the chunk lives in the same vector index.
Which file types are indexed?
PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, ODF, plain text, Markdown, and HTML. The accepted mimetype list is editable in MCP Server → Knowledge → Mimetypes.
What does “Free Onboarding” actually cover?
A 60–90 minute live screen-share with the developer who built the module. We help you wire your first AI client (Claude / ChatGPT / Cursor / Gemini), configure your first MCP Connection, and run your first prompt end-to-end against your Odoo instance.
Will I receive complimentary support and upgrades?
Free support for the first 60 days after purchase. From Odoo 13 onwards, each app version is sold separately per Odoo policy.
