A very powerfull and professional looking dashboard module with no limits?

I must admit that I first bought the module for the professionnal rendering of the differrents graph.

And when you start to use it you just start to see the powerfullness of the module and the deep thinking put into it.

Easy to use, intuitive, and if you want to go deeper you can even code some python computation?

The best money spent on odoo so far. Really. I'm even using these dashboard to make some specific request to track issue in my BOM, my stock.

(Ever wanted to detect some archived line in your BOM? 15 minutes and you got a dashbaord with the list and you can click on it to display an adhoc treeview! All with mouse and click...!)

Want to list all the product without a supplier ?

Will save me a lot of time!

Just fantastic so far

Transpose table
by
chris berger
on 3/11/21, 1:43 AM

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the quick response. I have one (actually two) more questions:

1. I have data stored in a table where for reporting purposes I have to transpose the table (rows->columns). Will this app let me do it?

2. And if not could I call a stored procedure and then use the returned dataset in a report?

Thanks

Re: Transpose table

Not sure exactly what you mean, for reports you can group by two dimensions which changes the row/columns of pivot table, etc. However using the OCA module bi_sql_editor will allow more flexibility creating a sql-view-based record type in Odoo that could be used like any other record type in Odoo but it would be based on sql. Feel free to contact me at chris at inspiredsoftware.com.au if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help. We have on the roadmap to allow using sql directly as the data source in the app, but the bi_sql_editor module fills that gap in an even nicer way. Chris

large tables

have you evaluated performance on tables with 10M+ records?

Re: large tables
by
Chris White
on 3/10/21, 3:09 AM Author

Hi,

Thanks for a great question. We haven't however the module generates the data using standard Odoo api such as search, search_read, read_group, etc and adds in any domain filters, record limits, sort orders defined on each dashboard tile. I would expect the same kind of performance when generating the same kind of data in other areas of Odoo.

There is also a 'cache' feature that can be used on some of the dashboard tile types that will compute the value in a scheduled cron and keep the copy ready to display on a dashboard quickly. This may also be of use.

Re:

Hi,

Thank you for your question. This one could be tricky depending on if you buy the same product from multiple suppliers. If you use 'Buy to order' this would be possible as there would be a link between which sale for which supplier.

If you buy to put into stock from multiple suppliers for the same product you wouldn't know which supplier's product each sale sold if each product has multiple suppliers.

In the simpler case that each product only had one supplier you could use either of the options below. Let me know if you have multiple suppliers for each product that you use and we could explore how to find the data you want in Odoo. If its there it can be reported on in one way or another.

Sales by the primary supplier (Ie. sales grouped by the first supplier listed on the product suppliers list)

- Add a custom field in studio or Odoo technical settings -> Models as a compute field for the first supplier listed on the product

- Create a dashboard tile for sale order lines, grouped by this new field for the first/primary supplier

Sales that have a specific supplier (ie. All sales for products that have ABC Supplier as a supplier listed on the products)

- Create a dashboard tile for sale order lines and filter on sale_order_line->product_id->seller_ids contains ABC Supplier

Hope this helps!

Hi, we are looking for sales reporting dashboards like sales per product category, margin per product category, sales and margin per customer, etc. Is it possible to build such reports with this module? Is it possible to test the module on a test server before we buy?

Thanks in advance! Georgi

Re: Interested

Hi Georgi,

Thank you very much for your question. I have listed the approach for each of these to build them in the dashboard app.

You can create dashboards based on any record in the system. Odoo has created a "Sale Report" record that helps summarise the information you are looking for. You can use this in our dashboard module to bring any of the information in any of the dashboard tile types and along side any other information in your system. There is also our free training videos at https://www.odooinsights.com/ that may help you further.

Sales per product category: Based on the sales report record type, measure untaxed total and group by product category

Margin per product category: Based on the sales report record type, measure margin and group by product category

Sales and margin per customer: Same as above but group by the customer instead of the product category
