MRP Forecast Demand

The “MRP Forecast Demand” supports the MRP independent demand forecasting process from past stock consumption data.

The demand forecasting process consists of the following steps:

·       Stock consumption items determination from outgoing stock goods moves at warehouse level

·       Evaluating consumption items distribution over the time

·       Prediction of demand items based on the ARIMA model; the optimal parameters are determined automatically

·       Evaluating the forecasting results (Stationary behavior assumption tested by the Augmented Dickey-Fuller Test)

·       Updating the MRP independent demand

Presequisites:

The following python libraries are to be available:

·       numpy

·       pandas

·       matplotlib

·       pmdarima

·       statsmodels

Stock Consumption Items

Goods issue stock movements at warehouse level are grouped by day. A tool is provided for data uploading in “Full” mode for the concerned warehouse.

Consumption items can be created manually or uploaded from an excel/txt file also (loading stock items data drawn by a legacy system).

After uploading consumption items, the time series can be explored by displaying its data over the time.

Stock Forecast Run

The stock items forecasting can be performed by entering the following parameters:

·       number of days for selecting past consumption items

·       number of days for predicting demand items

·       start forecasting day from today or tomorrow

The following log is provided with an overview of the forecasting process.

After evaluating the forecast results, the MRP demand items can be uploading in the Demand Management section of MRP Planning Engine.

The forecast items are created in stock consumption items and pointed out with the forecast indicator.
