To adjust password policies for Odoo users:
- Navigate to the main "Settings" on your Odoo dashboard.
- From there, proceed to "General Settings".
- Scroll down and find the "Permissions" section.
- Within "Permissions," you'll come across the "Password Policy" subsection.
- Here, you can:
- Set the expiration period by defining the "Password expires in" field in days.
- Specify the duration after which a user can change their password again in the "User can change password in" field, measured in hours.
- Set the number of previous passwords that cannot be reused in the "Disallow reuse of" field.
- Define the minimum password length in the "Minimum number of characters" field.
- Set the mandatory count for lowercase characters in "Minimum number of lowercase characters."
- Determine the required number of uppercase characters in "Minimum number of uppercase characters."
- Decide the minimum numeric characters required in "Minimum number of numeric characters."
- Establish the least special characters a password should have in "Minimum number of special characters."
- Adjust the strength estimation threshold in "Minimum number of strength estimation."
To adjust company-specific password policies in Odoo:
- Head to Settings, then access the Company tab.
- Select the Password subsection.
- You can then modify:
- Timings: Configure retry options, set expiration days, and designate the minimum hours before allowing password changes.
- Extra: Determine the password's minimum length, the period for password history reuse, and the strength estimation.
- Required Characters: Specify requirements for lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.
After finalizing your preferences, remember to save to implement the rules for the company.
