Bitpay payments in POS

Use Bitpay payment method in POS

Key features:
  • Allows using online payment via Bitpay

Installation

  • Use command in python3: -m pip install "bitpay
  • Be sure that your server is available for requests from outside (i.e. it shall not be available in local network only)

Bitpay configuration

  • Register your organization in https://bitpay.com (production mode) or in https://test.bitpay.com (development mode).
  • Go to https://bitpay.com/api-tokens or https://test.bitpay.com/api-tokens;
  • Click "Add new token";
  • Input token label (write anything) and add tick on "Require Authentication";
  • Press "Add token";
  • Copy pairing code.

Odoo configuration

  • Go to Point of Sale → Configuration → Payment methods;
  • Create new payment method;
  • Activate check-box "Bitpay enabled?";
  • If you are using production mode, then activate check-box "Bitpay production mode";
  • Input pairing code from previous section and press save;

  • Press "Get token"
  • Copy "Bitpay client pairing code" value;
  • Go back to https://bitpay.com/api-tokens or https://test.bitpay.com/api-tokens;
  • In Approve token section input client pairing code from previous step and press Find ;
  • Input label and press Approve;

  • Go back to Odoo server;
  • Go to Point of Sale → Configuration → Point of Sale ;
  • Open POS settings, where you want to add a payment method;
  • Press "Edit" button and Add a record to "Payment methods" section;

Usage - Show QR to customer

  • Go to Main menu → Point of Sale;
  • Open POS with Bitpay payment method;
  • Add products and click on "Payment" button:
  • RESULT: QR is shown on Screen

Payment methods

It is assumed that your organization is already registered and approved in https://bitpay.com (production mode) or in https://test.bitpay.com (development mode)

  • Go to https://bitpay.com/api-tokens or https://test.bitpay.com/api-tokens
  • Click on Add new token
  • Input token label (write anything) and add tick on "Require Authentication"
  • Press Add token
  • Copy pairing code, that will be need later

In Odoo:

  • Go to [[ Point of Sale ]] >> Configuration >> Payment methods
  • Create new payment method
  • Add tick on "Bitpay enabled?"
  • If you are using production mode, then press tick on "Bitpay production mode"
  • Input pairing code from previous section
  • Save
  • Press "Get token"
  • Copy "Bitpay client pairing code" value
  • Go back to https://bitpay.com/api-tokens or https://test.bitpay.com/api-tokens
  • In Approve token section input client pairing code from previous step and press Find
  • Input label and press Approve
  • Go back to odoo server
  • Go to [[ Point of Sale ]] >> Configuration >> Point of Sale
  • Choose POS
  • Press Edit button
  • In Payment methods field add created payment method

Usage

Show QR to customer

  • Start POS
  • Create some Order
  • Go to Payment screen
  • Click on bitpay payment method
  • RESULT: QR is shown on Screen
