What is Trends Top ?
Trends Top is your one-stop-shop for current business information and powerful web tools financial analysis, targeted prospecting, geomarketing and sales management. An online working tool and a communication platform.
The site has up to 700,000 unique visitors and some 2.8 million pages visited per month.
Why should you add Trends Top to your Odoo ?
It's an additional security for your company. In fact, thanks to Trends Top, you won't have any doubts of who are your custumers and your providers.
Trends Top can bring you any information about a company in a few clicks. You can have basic information such as addres, phone, mail, VAT. But you can also have more detailed information such as their sector of activity, their financial information, the collaborators of the company and a lot more !
Features
Search
Open the application (or go in the search menu if the app is already opened), there you can create search queries and perform the search on Trends Top to get a result (you have to save the search to see the "Perform search" button). Once the button is clicked you'll have the list of the results (limited to 20), every line is a company. You can then import a company or click on "import all companies" to import them all in your Odoo ; importing the company will create a partner with the found information ; this will cost a credit by imported company.
Partner Trends Top management
Open a partner from view and make sure it's a company and VAT field is filled. You should be able to see a tab named "(Trends Top) Management", open it. A button "Sync members with Trends Top" is shown and clicking on it would list all the management members of the company without any name (this is free, no credit is consumed). For each management member a button "import" would appear allowing you to import the contact in Odoo with his name and contact information if provided. If the member is already imported, an update button would appear instead of "import", this one allows you to update the imported contact and, again, if no change detected, no credit is consumed.
Partner Trends Top data
Open a partner form view and make sure it's a company and VAT field is filled. The button "Sync details with trends top" should appears. Clicking on it will download base and useful data from Trends Top about the company (this cost 1 credit) like key figures, legal form, sector, etc. You can click on this button even if data is already downloaded, if no change is detected, no credit is consumed.
Partner Log
Every credit consuming request performed on a partner is logged in the chatter, allowing you to see all received data, even if some are not shown in the form view. This also logs the amount of credit used and the amount of credits left.
Configuration
Configure Trends Top
Install Trends Top application and then, open the app, then click on "config" menu to find an empty list.
Each line represents a Trends Top account configuration.
Configure your Trends Top account
Create a new one by specifying the asked data (provided by Trends Top).
For each user credentials only listed users would be able to use the linked credentials ; this provides you a way to limit who can spend credits.
The application does not limit the trendstop account creation but it's recommended to use only one, or at least, make sure a user is only linked to one of the two accounts.
Once done, you can synchronize base data (nacebels, sectors, figures, functions and staffclass) ; it's not mandatory but this would make synchronized data more "human-readable" (these synchronizations does not use any credit) ; synchronize all is the same as clicking on all other buttons at the same time. You can then check the synchronized values in the data menu.
