VH Advance List View
Turn any Odoo list into a spreadsheet — resize, reorder, freeze & hide columns, per-column filters, footer formulas, cell selection, clipboard copy/paste and conditional formatting. Saved per user, synced to the server.
What it does
This module turns every standard Odoo list into a spreadsheet-grade experience. The tools appear on every list in the system automatically — including the sub-tables inside a form's tabs — with no changes to your views. Each person's layout is remembered for every list they open and follows them from one browser or computer to the next, so their setup is always there.
Requirements
Python libraries
None — pure Odoo & JavaScript. No extra packages to install.
System dependencies
None. Runs entirely inside the Odoo web client and ORM.
Odoo depends
web · Odoo 18.0.
Key features
Column layout
Drag to resize or reorder columns, freeze the first N columns during horizontal scroll, a sticky header for vertical scroll, and show / hide columns from a dropdown.
Per-column quick filters
An Excel-style filter row with the right input per field — text, number, selection, boolean, date. Filters AND-merge with the search bar, so neither drops the other.
Footer formulas
Right-click a column footer to show Sum, Average, Count, Min or Max — saved per column.
Conditional formatting
Admin-defined rules paint a whole row or a single cell (background, text color, bold, italic) when a field matches a condition — scoped per model or per specific view.
Spreadsheet interaction
Click / range cell selection with keyboard navigation (arrows, Enter / F2, Escape) and copy / paste (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V) — move data straight to and from Excel & Google Sheets.
Saved & synced
Widths, order, hidden columns, freeze count and totals are saved per person & per list — instantly available and following each user from one browser or computer to the next. One-click Reset to the original list.
How to use
- Install the app — the tools appear on every list view automatically.
- Click the sliders button at the top of any list to open the tools bar (Filters, Columns, Freeze, Copy, Paste, Reset).
- Resize by dragging a header edge; reorder by dragging a header; set Freeze with the stepper; toggle columns from Columns.
- Click Filters to reveal the per-column filter row and type / pick a value.
- Right-click a column footer to add a Sum / Average / Count / Min / Max.
- Select cells and use Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V (or the Copy / Paste buttons) to move data to and from Excel.

Column layout & filtering
The tools bar and the Excel-style per-column filter row — the right input per column (text, date, number, selection):
The same filter row works on the sub-tables inside a form — filter the lines by a column value, live as you type:
Show or hide any column — even ones not in the original view — from the Columns dropdown:
▶ Resize a column by dragging its edge — every other column stays put, and the width is saved:
Drag a header to reorder columns — a live guide shows where it will drop (widths & order are saved per user):
▶ Freeze the first columns so they stay pinned while you scroll sideways (here Number & Order Date):
▶ Sticky header — the tools bar and column titles stay on screen while you scroll a long list:
Totals & conditional formatting
Right-click a column footer to pick Sum, Average, Count, Min or Max — remembered per column:
…and the totals appear right in the footer — here a Count on Number and an Average on Total:
Conditional formatting — admin rules dim draft quotations and highlight the biggest deals, automatically:
Spreadsheet interaction
Select a range of rows or cells (click & shift-click) and copy straight to Excel or Google Sheets with the Copy button or Ctrl+C:
▶ Keyboard navigation — move the cell cursor with the arrow keys (Enter / F2 to edit, Esc to leave), just like a spreadsheet:

Advance List View — a spreadsheet inside every list
Overview
Advance List View turns every standard Odoo list into a spreadsheet-grade experience. The tools appear on every list in the system automatically — including the sub-tables inside a form's tabs — with no changes to your views.
What you get on every list:
- Column layout — drag to resize or reorder columns, freeze the first columns so they stay visible while scrolling sideways, keep a sticky header while scrolling down, and show or hide any column from a dropdown.
- Per-column quick filters — an Excel-style filter row with the right input per column (text, number, selection, yes/no, date) that works together with the search bar so neither drops the other.
- Totals in the footer — right-click a column footer to show Sum, Average, Count, Min or Max; remembered per column.
- Conditional formatting — colour a whole row or a single cell when a value meets a condition you define.
- Spreadsheet interaction — select cells, move with the keyboard (arrows, Enter / F2, Escape) and copy / paste straight to and from Excel and Google Sheets.
- Saved & synced — every person's layout is remembered per list and follows them from one browser or computer to the next; one-click Reset restores the original list.
Installation
- Copy vh_advance_list_view into your Odoo addons path.
- Update the apps list and install VH Advance List View. No extra Python libraries and no server configuration are required.
Usage
- Open any list. Click the sliders button at the top to reveal the tools bar (Filters, Columns, Freeze, Copy, Paste, Reset).
- Resize by dragging a header edge; reorder by dragging a header; set Freeze with the stepper; toggle columns from Columns.
- Click Filters to reveal the per-column filter row and type or pick a value.
- Right-click a column footer to add a Sum / Average / Count / Min / Max.
- Select cells and use Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V (or the Copy / Paste buttons) to move data to and from a spreadsheet.
Everything you change is remembered for you on that list, and follows you to your next browser or computer.
Configuration — conditional formatting
Go to Settings → Advance List View → Format Rules and create a rule:
- Choose the model (and, optionally, one specific list view — leave it empty to apply to every list of that model).
- Pick the field and the condition (=, !=, >, >=, <, <=, contains, does not contain, is set, is not set) and the value.
- Choose whether to colour the whole row or a single cell, and set the look: background and text colour, bold, italic. Use Sequence to decide which rule wins when several match.
