Why a dedicated bridge?

aos_branch_account tags every journal entry with a branch. aos_financial_reports renders the financial reports. The two work together, but neither knows about the other — this bridge wires them up so "Filter P&L by Jakarta branch" works out of the box, without touching either parent module.

  • Branch dimension — sits on every journal entry but invisible to reports.
  • Per-branch P&L — requires custom SQL + spreadsheet pivot every month-end.
  • Comparison — can’t compare Jakarta vs Surabaya side-by-side without exporting + re-importing.
  • Drill-down — no way to click a P&L line and see only Jakarta journal items.

  • Branch dimension — shows up as a filter pill on every AFR report.
  • Per-branch P&L — one click. SQL queries auto-add am.branch_id IN (...).
  • Comparison — pick 2+ branches, AFR renders side-by-side columns.

How it works (technical)

1. Subscribes to AFR’s extension hooks (v7.2+):
→ _afr_extra_filter_pills() — declares the Branch pill
→ _afr_extra_sql_clauses() — injects am.branch_id IN %s
→ _afr_extra_filter_defaults() — default pill state

2. Reads from aos_branch_account.account_move.branch_id
— no schema additions, no FK creation, no data migration

3. Pill UI inherits from AFR’s standard multi-select widget
— consistent with Company / Journal / Analytic filter pills

4. auto_install = True — the module activates itself the
moment aos_branch_account + aos_financial_reports are both installed
