Cookie Bar Consent Banner with Google Tag Odoo Apps
Cookie Bar Manager Odoo Apps
User Consent Banner for Cookies Odoo Apps
Cookie Consent Banner on website Odoo Apps
Cookie Bar Consent Banner adds a customizable and user-friendly cookie consent banner to your Odoo website, helping ensure compliance with privacy regulations such as GDPR. It allows visitors to accept all cookies, only essential ones, or tailor their preferences. From the website’s Privacy settings, you can activate the Consent Manager and select between no banner or the Odoo cookie bar. The module supports Google Consent Mode through the gtag.js script, and once preferences are saved, a cookie icon appears on every page—letting users update their choices anytime for full transparency and control.

Cookie Consent Banner
Shows a popup on your website to collect user consent for cookies.

Consent Options
User can choose “Allow All”, “Only Essential”, or “Customize”.

Custom Cookie Preferences
“Customize” button lets visitors select which cookies to allow or block.

Backend Configuration
Enable and control the cookie banner from Website > Settings.

Website Cookie Consent Configuration
The website settings in Odoo where administrators can enable and configure the customizable cookie consent banner. Under the Privacy section, user can activate the Odoo Cookies Bar, block third-party tracking, and manage cookie preferences using the Consent Manager. Cookie Banner Settings section allows customization of cookie bar titles, descriptions, policy URLs, button labels, and cookie type categories such as Necessary, Functional, Analytics, and Marketing.
In the website footer, the cookie bar is visible. When the user selects the Odoo cookie bar under the Consent Manager settings, a "Customize" button appears in the cookie bar.

Cookie Consent Popup
The cookie consent popup appears on the website when the user clicks on the customize button, allowing them to manage their cookie preferences by toggling options for Necessary, Functionality, Analytics, and Marketing cookies, with 'Confirm' and 'Allow All' buttons available.
Once the cookie has been set up, the cookie icon becomes visible in the footer section of the website's home page.

When the user clicks on the cookie icon, the cookie consent popup open.
In the header section, the TagHound browser extension is available. When the user clicks on it, a popup appears where they need to enable the 'GTM Tracking' option and then click the 'Reload' button.

When the user clicks the ‘Reload’ button, the TagHound popup displays the Google Tag Manager section, listing the recorded GTM events (e.g., dataLayer update, dom, load) along with their timestamps and source URLs.
From the cookie consent popup, when the user enables the Functionality option and clicks the Confirm button, they grant permission for the website to use functionality-related cookies to enhance their browsing experience.

After the user enables the Functionality option in the cookie consent popup and clicks Confirm, the TagHound extension displays that functionality_storage have been granted, indicating successful permission for those cookie categories.
When the user enables Analytics, and Marketing cookies and clicks the Confirm or Allow All button, those selected cookie categories are granted permission, allowing the website to store and use related data accordingly.

The TagHound debugger shows that after interacting with the cookie consent settings, all categories have been granted, indicating full user consent for data tracking and cookie storage.
When I disable the "Analytics" field under Website > Configuration > Settings and save the changes, the Analytics field becomes invisible in the cookie popup.

Now, user can also customize the popup text from the configuration. Here, user can see and modify the cookie bar URL, cookie banner title, and button name.

Now, user can see the updated modifications reflected in the cookie popup. This allows user to easily change any text directly from the configuration.
