The purpose of this module is to separate shared email addresses in a company from other contacts in a company. The benefits of this are to make shared email address contact types different from regular contacts to prevent any errors if you need to select a company contact in a form view. Additionally, if you are sending an email to the accounts department of a company, instead of sending it to a user in accounts, you can send it to their shared accounts email address which means it is more likely to get a reply faster.
