This guide explains template setup, designer configuration, cheque creation, and printing workflow in your Odoo system.

1. Module Overview

The Standalone Cheque Printing module helps accounting teams print cheque details with precise alignment on pre-printed cheque leaves. You can configure cheque templates per bank, upload a cheque image for reference, place all printable fields in the visual designer, and print cheques directly from Odoo with controlled cheque states.

2. Configuration

To configure the Standalone Cheque Printing module:

  1. Install the Standalone Cheque Printing module.
  2. Go to Standalone Cheque → Templates and create a template.
  3. Fill Bank, Account Number, and cheque size (mm).
  4. Upload cheque image for visual positioning reference.
  5. Save template so paper format is generated automatically.

3. Designing Field Positions

  1. Open the template and click Configure or Open Designer.
  2. Select each field from dropdown and click Add Field.
  3. Drag each field to exact cheque position.
  4. Click Save Positions and close designer.
  5. Re-open designer anytime to fine tune alignment.

4. Cheque Printing Workflow

  • Create Cheque: Open Standalone Cheque → Cheques, create cheque, and select template.
  • Print Cheque: Click Print Cheque from draft cheque to generate print output.
  • Reprint / Void / Reset: Use lifecycle actions to control cheque state safely.

1. What is the purpose of this module?
This module is built to print cheque details with accurate positioning on bank cheque leaves. It provides template setup, visual field placement, and controlled cheque lifecycle actions.
2. Does it print the uploaded cheque image?
The uploaded image is used as a reference in the designer for field alignment. Printing places text fields at configured coordinates to match pre-printed cheque stationery.
3. How do I configure cheque field positions?
Open template and click Configure. In the designer, add fields from dropdown, drag them to correct places, and save positions. These coordinates are then used in print output.
4. What cheque states are available?
Cheques move through Draft, Printed, and Void. You can also reset printed cheques back to draft when correction is needed.
5. Can amount in words be controlled?
Yes. The module computes amount in words and supports maximum character per line split for cheque-friendly printing.
6. Can one user see all cheques?
Security can be limited to own records for normal users, while account managers can access all cheque records.
