Setup

You can simply install the application into Odoo, like with other applications in it; once it's done, you can proceed to the configuration of the payment method

After setting up the addon, you will need an application to use for your credentials when using MeSomb on Odoo. Head over to MeSomb website on My applications (this is if you already own a MeSomb account) to create a new application by following these steps:

  1. Step 1: The Name of the application. You can insert the name of the application, import an icon if you have it, and select the category of the application. It can be for: E-Commerce, Education, Finance, Other
  2. Step 2: The Description of the application. You can state here what is the role of your business, and the URL of the business site. Although it isn't required, you need to specify the country you're in.
  3. Step 3: The platform for the application to use. You have the choice of many places to use your application on; but we'll be focusing on Odoo for now.
  4. Step 4: The technology of the application. You can specify which technology you can use for technical development of the application.

After that, you have now an application created, and ready for external usage.

Configuration

To start using the application on another website, there are few steps that need to be done:

  1. First of all, the MeSomb Application needs to be installed in Odoom after putting it in the addon database.
  2. Then, you should head over the Odoo Website, and selecting "Configuration > Settings > Website", and head over the "Shop - Payment" to add and configure the MeSomb addon. Click on "View Alternatives" .
  3. You'll see a list of addons that can be used for the website. Select "Mesomb" in the list.
  4. In the MeSomb addon page, you'll see that Odoo requires the user to insert various keys from the application: the Application Key, the Access Key and the Secret Key.
  5. This is where you should go back to your application, where you select your created application, and select the "Integration" menu, to get the 3 keys mentioned above.
  6. In the settings, you"ll also need to set your "Payment Journal" settings in the "Configuration" menu of the MeSomb addon. After that is done, you can "Enable" your addon, you have now your application ready to be used in your website.

Usage

With the proper configuration made:

  1. You need to make sure the eCommerce application is activated in the website.
  2. If everything is done correctly, when you are doing a new payment in the website, you should see MeSomb as the payment method in it..
  3. The Point of Sale reflects it in the payment line and thus the order can be validated now.
