Global Search
A global search is used to search any object based on the configuration. You can search all object's data easily. You can also configure one to many fields. The "Global Search" is visible to all odoo users. The search box is available at the top of the menu. Search results on click redirect to that record on the new tab. You can easily perform a search on multi-company objects also we have beautifully shown company names before so you can see search results related to that company, we have shown object (model) nicely whenever you have a search query found in multiple objects, you can very easily see the difference of different objects. It also takes care of access rights of users, if a user doesn't have any object access then it will not show that record in search results. if the user has multi-company enabled then it shows multi-company results. We have made this look fully configurable you can easily configure what is an important object(model) and the related fields of that object(model), We have made security groups for these configurations so only those who have the right that user only can configure this global search objects and fields, All internal users can use this global search feature. Enable the "Show Global Search Configuration" menu.
We can configure object for global search from here.
Select object/model, name field, model fields. For one to many fields, you can configure from the smart button.
After that one wizard open, add one to many fields.
You can search the object based on configuration. "Global Search" visible to the whole odoo user.

After looking through the code to fix the errors I mentioned in my previous comment..
I have noticed how terribly inefficient this module is written.
The search pulls ALL data out of the database and loops over every single record to check if it matches the search instead of creating a specific query.
After fixing a bug in the code the search works fine on a model with 10 records but it if you have 20,000 records it is unusable (the search return takes minutes)
Save your money, don't buy this

Sorry inconvenience you faced! We accept with apologies about performance issue. Reason was we have many2one/one2many level configurations options and which make difficult to mange at query level. Still we have decided to move orm methods to sql query level to boost performance of search results. We will need time to do that. We will keep updating you on this.

Buggy module
V15 module is buggy.
You cannot setup a search on a model that has a 'company_id' field.
- To replicate this, create a global.search record where the model_id is sale.order. When trying to type in the global search you get the error
local variable 'model_obj' referenced before assignmentThe module also does not use the enterprise colours when installed on an enterprise database.

Pls check it out latest updated app. We not able to do with SQL as mostly fields in odoo are compute fields and not store at database levels. We tried our best to update within ORM.

On the video it shows a mode for Odoo where the modules are selected from a drop down in the upper left corner instead of going back to the home screen every time the menu button is pressed.
How do I activate that mode so it is more like a menu bar that says at the top all the time?
