The Product Similarity Search module allows users to search for products and variants based on similarity ranking. Even if a product is named "Drawer Black," users can search for it using terms like "Black Drawer" or "Blak Drawr," enabling them to find results based on similarity rather than exact matches.

Installing the Product Similarity Search add-on in Odoo.

To set up the Product Similarity Search add-on in Odoo, begin by accessing the Odoo Apps menu. Clear any pre-existing filters from the search field. Proceed to search for the "Product Similarity Search" add-ons. Once you find the specific add-on you're looking for, select it to commence the installation procedure.

New Search Filter Added: Name (Similarity).

After installing the module, a new search filter named "Name (Similarity)" is visible in the product and variant search views. To search using this filter, users simply need to select "Name (Similarity)" from the search options.

Text Similarity for Enhanced Search Results.

The screen captures illustrate how users can obtain search results based on similarity term ranking. This functionality is achieved by leveraging pg_trgm text similarity, with a threshold greater than 0.1, to enhance the relevance of search outcomes.
