Enable 2-FA for Admins.
Admin 2-FA has the ability to enable/disable/configure the 2-FA for normal users.
To enable Admin 2-FA, go to Settings module --> Users & Companies --> Users.
In user form, select Admin 2-FA checkbox then Save.
Enable Open 2FA for Companies.
Go to Settings --> Users & Companies --> Companies.
In selected company form, enable Open 2FA then Save.
Enable 2-FA for Users.
Go to Settings --> Users & Companies --> Users.
In user form, open 2FA tab and setup as follows:
Is OTP Used : Select the checkbox to enable the 2-FA for this user then Save.
Type : Time based, counter base.
Secret : Once Is OTP Used is selected and saved, a secret code will be automatically generated. All users in the same companies have the same secret code. Admin/Users can change secret code, this will also change the related QR code.
Google Authentication.
Odoo users will need to download Google Authentication app to scan the QR code and get the authentication code to login to Odoo.
At the first time , users login by using OTP . Admin click to First OTP. During the login process, the user can scan QR code which uses 2-Factor authentication.
Login with 2-Factor authentication.
User login Odoo with username and password (1st authentication).
After the 1st authentication, the user must scan the QR code with Google Authentication app to get the validation code. User enters the validation code in Odoo then clicks Log in.
Note: QR code will be shown up only for the 1st log in time. Once the QR code is scanned, it will be saved in the Google Authentication app, and the user can check the app for validation code.
Block attackers and frauds IP addresses.
If users fail to login 11 times, his account will be locked and he needs to contact the admin to reset his access.
To check login failing list, go to Settings --> IP Address Management --> IP Address.
Login Fail List.
Click Reset Access to enable the account for users.
Admin can whitelist the IP addresses that are reliable to login in Settings --> IP Address Management --> Whitelist IP Address.
