Odoo 16 Sales Order Linkage Enhancement for Documents

This module extends the Odoo Documents module by adding custom fields to link Sale Orders with documents. It enhances the functionality by displaying related sale orders for each document, as well as providing a document count on Sale Order records.

Allowing users to associate a document with a Sale Order.
Automatically computes and displays the number of related documents on Sale Orders.
Adds a button on Sale Orders to view the related documents in a kanban view.

Open the Documents module from the dashboard > Select a document from the list > In the document details, you will see a field i.e Sale.

Link the document to a specific Sale Order by selecting the order from the drop-down.

Navigate to Sales Module > There is now a button that shows the number of documents you have selected for the particular quotation.

On clicking the button, associated documents will show that you have selected.

The required Sale Order can be found in the search view of the documents by searching the order reference.

Clicking the search sale reference will display the associated documents.

Installation Instructions


  1. Download the Module
    • Download the Allow SO Linkage On Documents module from the Odoo App Store.
    • Save the downloaded module file (usually a .zip file) to your Odoo addons directory.
  2. Install the Module
    • Log in to your Odoo system as an Administrator.
    • Go to Apps > Update Apps List to refresh the list of available modules.
    • In the Apps menu, search for "Allow SO Linkage On Documents."
    • Click the Install button next to the module.
  3. Troubleshooting
    • If you don't see the module in the Apps list: Ensure that you have activated developer mode by going to Settings -> Activate Developer Mode.
