Azure Document Intelligence provider

This add-on brings the Azure Document Intelligence integration to the AZ AI OCR Vendor Bills ecosystem. It uses Microsoft's prebuilt-invoice model to parse PDFs and return supplier details, invoice number, dates, currency, line items, and totals.

Requirements

This provider relies on the following (installation details are not included here):

• Azure Document Intelligence resource in a supported region
• Azure endpoint (e.g., https://<resource>.cognitiveservices.azure.com)
• Azure API key (Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key)
• API version (default 2023-07-31)
• Model ID (default prebuilt-invoice)

Notes: API usage is subject to your Azure subscription and service limits (throughput/quotas). Ensure your endpoint, key, region, and API version match your Azure resource configuration.

Configuration

1. Install AZ AI OCR Vendor Bills (base module) and this provider: az_invoice_provider_ai_ocr_azure.
2. Go to:
   Accounting → Configuration → Settings → AI OCR for Vendor Bills
   Select Azure Document Intelligence as the active provider.
3. In the Azure Document Intelligence settings block:
   • Azure endpoint - paste your resource endpoint (no trailing slash)
   • Azure API key - primary or secondary key from your resource
   • API version - e.g., 2023-07-31
   • Model ID - usually prebuilt-invoice
   • HTTP timeout (sec), Poll interval (sec), Max poll seconds

How to use

1. Open Accounting → Vendors → Bills, click New. In the bill form, press Import vendor bill (AI), upload the PDF, and choose between a single 'totals' line or full line items.
2. The provider sends the PDF to Azure, polls the asynchronous operation until it completes, maps the returned fields, and attaches the original PDF to the draft bill.

Tips & troubleshooting

• For 401/403 errors, verify the endpoint region and API key (primary/secondary) are correct.
• For 429 (rate limit) or long files, increase Poll seconds and/or HTTP timeout.
• Keep Model ID as prebuilt-invoice unless you use a custom model.
• Ensure the endpoint URL has no trailing slash and matches your Azure resource region.
• Check Odoo logs for detailed request/polling status (no sensitive data is logged).
