What does this module do?

Notify Customer by Email Partial Delivery automatically sends an email to the customer when a delivery is validated but the sale order still has pending products to be shipped.

The email lists each pending product with its image, quantity remaining to deliver, and expected delivery date - giving customers full visibility without any manual intervention from your team.

When a partial delivery is validated, the customer receives an email immediately - no manual steps required from your warehouse or sales team.

The email includes a table with product image, name, pending quantity, and forecast delivery date for every item still to be shipped.

Per-customer opt-out

Tag any contact with Not Notify Partial Delivery Email to exclude them from notifications without touching any code or configuration.

Multi-language support

Email content is sent in the customer's own language. Translations included for Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.

Zero configuration

Works immediately after installation. No settings page, no activation switch - install and it runs.

How it works

No action is needed from your team. The module runs automatically when a delivery is validated in Odoo.

  1. Create and confirm a sale order

    Create a sale order as usual and confirm it. The module monitors all validated outgoing deliveries linked to sale orders.

  2. Validate a partial delivery

    In Inventory, validate a delivery where not all ordered products are included. If the related sale order still has items with pending quantity, the module detects the partial delivery automatically.

  3. Customer receives the email automatically

    Immediately after validation, the shipping address contact receives an email listing all pending products with quantities and expected delivery dates.

  4. Email logged in the sale order chatter

    The notification is posted to the sale order chatter so your sales team always has a record of what was communicated to the customer.

Note: no email is sent when the final delivery is validated and all ordered quantities have been fully shipped.

Configuration

No configuration required. The module works immediately after installation with no settings to configure.

Excluding specific customers from notifications

To prevent a particular customer from receiving partial delivery emails, assign the Not Notify Partial Delivery Email tag to their contact record.

Open the contact in Contacts and add the tag in the Tags field. This tag is created automatically when the module is installed.

The tag is checked against the shipping address of the sale order. If the order has a specific delivery contact, apply the tag to that contact - not the main company record.

Email template

The notification uses the Sales: Partial Delivery email template. To customise the email body or subject, go to Settings > Technical > Email > Templates (developer mode required) and search for Sales: Partial Delivery.
