Save for Later
Let registered customers save cart items for later and restore them from a convenient carousel directly on the cart page.
What does this module do?
Save for Later adds a bookmark button to every cart line, allowing registered customers to move items out of their active cart without losing them. Saved items appear in a scrollable carousel directly below the cart, where customers can restore them with a single click or remove them permanently.
Only logged-in customers can use the feature. Guest visitors see no changes to the standard cart layout. Items are saved per-website, so multi-website setups stay clean and isolated.
Save from the cart
A bookmark icon on each cart line lets customers move any product out of the cart and into their personal saved list -- together with the saved quantity.
One-click restore
Saved items appear in a horizontal carousel below the cart. Clicking Add to Cart restores the item and its quantity directly into the active order.
Save from product pages
Optionally display a Save for Later button on individual product pages so customers can bookmark products before even adding them to the cart.
Per-customer saved list
Each customer's saved list is stored separately, tied to their account and the current website. Data persists across sessions until the customer restores or removes an item.
Flexible display options
Choose whether to show the saved quantity on each carousel card and whether the Save for Later button appears on product pages -- both toggles are available in Website Settings.
Customer overview in the backend
A smart button on the customer form shows the total number of items that customer has saved for later, with a direct link to the full saved list.
Saved for Later carousel
When a registered customer visits the cart page, any items they have saved appear in a Saved for Later section below the main cart table. Each card shows the product image, name, optional saved quantity, and two action buttons: Add to Cart and Remove. Prev/next navigation arrows let customers scroll through longer lists.
Save for Later button on the product page
When the Show Button on Product Page option is enabled in settings, a Save for Later button appears on each product detail page for logged-in customers. Once the product is already saved, the button displays Saved for Later and is disabled, preventing duplicates.
How to use Save for Later
Follow these steps to save cart items and restore them later.
-
Log in to your account
The Save for Later feature is only available to registered, logged-in customers. Guest visitors will not see the bookmark button or the saved items carousel.
-
Add products to your cart
Browse the shop and add products to your cart as usual, then go to the cart page.
-
Click the bookmark icon to save an item
On each cart line, a small bookmark icon () appears next to the delete button. Click it to move that product -- along with its quantity -- out of the cart and into your saved list. The cart line is removed immediately.
-
View your saved items in the carousel
Scroll down on the cart page to find the Saved for Later section. Each saved product is shown as a card with its image, name, and optionally the saved quantity. Use the arrow buttons to navigate if you have more saved items than fit on screen.
-
Restore an item to the cart
Click Add to Cart on any saved item card to move it back into your active cart. The saved record is removed and the quantity is added to your current order. To permanently delete a saved item without restoring it, click Remove instead.
-
Save directly from a product page (optional)
If the Show Button on Product Page option is enabled in settings, you can click the Save for Later button on any product detail page to save it without going through the cart first.
Module configuration
After installation, enable and configure the feature under Website > Configuration > Settings. Scroll to the Save for Later section.
Save for Later settings in Website > Configuration > Settings
Available settings
Save for Later
Master toggle that enables or disables the entire feature for the selected website. When disabled, the bookmark button and the saved items carousel are hidden from all pages.
Show Saved Quantity
When enabled, each card in the saved items carousel displays the quantity the customer saved alongside the product name and image. Disable this for a cleaner card layout without the quantity line.
Show Button on Product Page
When enabled, a Save for Later button appears on individual product detail pages for logged-in customers. The button is disabled and shows Saved for Later once the product is already in the customer's saved list.
Backend: viewing a customer's saved items
Open any customer record in Contacts or from any Sales or eCommerce view. A Saved for Later smart button in the header area shows the total count of saved items for that customer. Click it to see the full list with product, quantity, and date saved.
