Overview

Cargo Management Module helps in handling of activities in the logistic centres and warehouse which includes transporting cargo, unloading cargo, picking, sorting and warehousing. Using this module a user can categorize the Cargos that are being handled, Can define different Locations and as well as managing the Cargo Owners from a single point. The module has three type of Users 1. Cargo User : This user can only access their own records, 2. Cargo Operator this user Can access all records and the third user is the Cargo Manager who can access all cargos and addition configuration menu

Manage Products

You can manage and creation new products in the system by selecting the product menu from module configuration. From the List of products, Click on create and a form for creating the product will open. It is important to set the product type to service so as odoo doesn't keep track of its inventory count. These products are latter then linked to packing type for trackking records.

Manage Packing Types

Packing Type represent the General Methods that a cargo can be packed for either shipping or freight. The packing types are linked with respective products wihich can latter be used in tracking financial records

Manage different Cargo Types

Cargo Types are used to define the actual size and type of packages that can be transported.

When adding cargo type make sure to link it with its corresponding packaging type

Define Different Locations

In managing cargo we track the point of origin and destination. These locations can be pre defined in the system. Using maps the locations can be as well tracked.

Manage Customers

The module allows user to maintain a database of cargo owners/customers. Whenever a cargo is registered in the system Owner details have to be linked with that cargo.

Manage Cargo & Packages

Cargo can be added to the system via this window. At this stage a user will be to capture important cargo details such as Owner of the cargo, Picking Location, Destination Location, transportation Type (Import, Export or Internal transit)

Once basic Details have been added you can also provide shipping details if available. Once that is done confirm the cargo to move it to next state

Once a cargo has been confirmed a user can continue with operations such as picking up by filling the pickup time and how many were picked. Once it has been delivered, user can update the correct delivery information on that cargo line. Once the operations on the cargo are done we can Mark it as done and information about that cargo will not be editable anymore!

For Cargos with more than one packages in total can be broken down to smaller packages for easy delivery and in the system these smaller packages can be tracked and treated separately as show below
