When you run repairs out of more than one warehouse, standard Odoo works against you: the source location of a new repair order comes from a single company-wide default. A technician working in the northern warehouse still opens a repair order pointing at the parts stock of a different site, and has to correct it by hand on every single order.
Repair Order Default Warehouse ties the repair order to the person creating it. Each new repair order starts with the source location of the warehouse assigned to the logged-in user, so parts are reserved from the right place from the very first click â no manual correction, no mispicks.
- User-based default â every new repair order starts with the source location of the creating user's own warehouse.
- Correct parts stock â components are picked from the warehouse where the technician actually works.
- Multi-company aware â when the company on the order changes, the source location follows the right warehouse.
- Zero configuration â it reuses the default warehouse already set on each user; nothing new to maintain.
- Fully native â you can still change the location by hand at any time; all standard repair features keep working.
- Download and install the module from Settings → Apps → Third-party modules.
- The Repair and Inventory applications are required and install automatically as dependencies.
- Assign a default warehouse to each user in Settings → Users & Companies → Users. That is all â new repair orders pick up the right source location automatically.
Set the default warehouse on each of your repair users. From then on, whenever that user creates a new repair order, the Source Location is pre-filled with the stock location of their warehouse.
Everything else stays standard: you can override the location on any individual order, and if the company on the order changes the location realigns to the matching warehouse. Your technicians simply stop losing time correcting the wrong stock location.
