Iframe Menu
Embed any external URL directly into Odoo as a menu item
Integrate your favorite BI tools, external reports, web applications, and analytics platforms seamlessly into the Odoo backend. No more switching between browser tabs â access everything from one place.
Configure Your Iframe Menu
Set the name, URL, parent menu and access groups â all in one form. The live preview lets you check the embedded page before publishing.
Automatic Menu Entry
Once published, a new menu item is automatically created under the parent menu you selected. Users with the right groups will see it in their navigation bar.
Full-Screen Iframe Experience
The external page is rendered in a full-viewport iframe, giving your users a seamless experience without leaving Odoo.
Key Features
Automatic Menu Creation
Each iframe menu automatically generates its own menu entry under any existing Odoo menu you choose as parent.
Group-Based Access Control
Control who can see each iframe menu using Odoo's native security groups. Only authorized users will see the corresponding menu items.
Publish / Unpublish Workflow
Iframe menus follow a simple two-state workflow. Unpublishing removes the menu but keeps the configuration for later.
How It Works
- Open the configuration: Go to Settings > Iframe Menus.
- Create an iframe menu: Click Create, enter a name, the external URL, and select any existing Odoo menu as the parent.
- Set access groups: Choose which user groups can access the iframe menu.
- Publish: Click Publish. A menu entry is instantly created and accessible to the selected groups.
Use Cases
- Embed Power BI, Metabase, or Google Data Studio reports
- Display Grafana monitoring panels
- Integrate third-party CRM or helpdesk tools
- Show internal wikis or documentation portals
- Embed project management boards (Trello, Jira, etc.)
- Access any web application without leaving Odoo
