Mass Edit & Bulk Update Records — Edit Many Records at Once
Mass edit, bulk update and batch edit any model from any list view. Set or clear a field on every selected record in one click — no code.
Stop opening records one by one. Select them in any list, choose a field, set (or clear) its value, and apply it to all of them in a single click. A huge time saver for everyday data cleanup — reassign a salesperson, retag contacts, update a status, fix a category or clear a field across hundreds of records in seconds.
Enable it once per model and pick the fields users may bulk-edit. From then on, everyday users just select records and apply. Every change runs as the current user, so access rights, record rules, validations and required constraints are always enforced — and a clear toast tells you exactly how many records were updated.
Set or clear a field on many records at once — pick the field, choose Set or Clear, and apply.
Define per model exactly which fields can be bulk-edited — no developer needed.
Features
- Works on any model — enable it for sales orders, contacts, products, invoices, leads, tasks or any custom model.
- Set or clear in bulk — write a new value to every selected record, or empty the field for all of them at once.
- Real record picker — for Many2one and Many2many fields you search and pick existing records (live name search), and a real dropdown lists the options of selection fields. No guessing IDs.
- Respects access rights & record rules — every change runs as the current user, so security, validations and required constraints are always enforced.
- Partial-apply toasts — records that can't be changed are skipped instead of breaking the whole batch, and a clear success / partial / failed notification tells you how many were updated.
- No code, no developer — configure allowed fields once from Settings; everyday users just select and apply.
How it works
- Go to Settings > Mass Edit and enable it for a model, then pick the fields allowed for bulk editing.
- Open that model's list, tick the records you want, and open the Action menu — the new Mass Edit entry appears automatically for that model.
- Choose the field, decide whether to set a new value or clear it, enter the value, and click Apply.
- Read the toast: it confirms how many records were updated and how many (if any) were skipped.
Permissions & data security
Built to respect Odoo's access model — audited so nothing leaks between users or companies.
- 👤 Role-based access. The app respects Odoo's access groups — there is no portal or public exposure. Everything computes on your standard data through the app's own service, so no restricted field is ever surfaced.
- ✅ Secure by design — audited access model. Audited across the whole suite.
