How to use :
1. Introduction
Welcome to the guide on using the Multi-Level Chart of Accounts Hierarchy: Parent & Child Structure with Custom Depth Levels module. In this guide, you will learn how to effectively use this module to achieve your objectives.
2. System Requirements
Before proceeding, please be aware of the following rules:
- Account Type Consistency: Only accounts of the same type can be designated as parent or child accounts. This ensures structural integrity within your accounting report.
- Transaction Limitations: Transactions may only occur within child accounts, which represent the lowest level in the hierarchy.
- Category Modifications: Only child accounts have the authority to change their categories, providing flexibility for financial reporting.
- Parent Account Conversion: To convert a child account into a parent account, it is crucial to ensure that no transactions exist within that child account.
Important Note: Converting a child account with existing transactions or a balance into a parent account will render the balance inactive, as transactions cannot be processed on accounts marked as parent. (Parent Account Automatically Deprecated)
If you wish to proceed with this conversion without holding transactions or balances, transfer any existing transactions to another designated account.
