Web Log File Viewer for Odoo
The Log Viewer module in Odoo helps you monitor and view system logs. By enabling Log Access in User Settings, you can access logs from the Technical menu. This tool allows you to filter logs, search for specific records, and refresh the view for real-time updates. It's essential for administrators and developers to troubleshoot issues and track system behavior efficiently.
In below image, we demonstrate how to enable the Log Viewer option. To do so, navigate to the User Settings in Odoo. Under the Access Rights section, within the Technical category, you will find the 'Log Access' option. Please ensure that this option is ticked, as it will make the Log Viewer option available, which is shown in the following image.
Note:Debug Mode must be enabled before making these changes.
Navigate to the 'Technical' menu in the Odoo navigation. Inside this menu, you will find the 'Log Viewer' option. Click on this option to view the logs.
When the log viewer opens, it displays the 20 most recent logs by default. You can also search for specific records using a search query, providing a quick and efficient way to locate particular logs.
In this example, we set the log length to 50 records and searched for warning message logs.
The options:
- Auto Refresh: A checkbox to enable or disable automatic refreshing of logs.
- Zoom In/Out: Options to adjust the zoom level of the logs page.
- Open in New Tab: A button to open the log viewer in a new tab.
You can also access the Log Viewer option from the debug icon menu.
It opens in a convenient pop-up window. This allows you to easily view and analyze logs without navigating away from your current page, making the process more efficient and user-friendly.
