Login Authentication

An optional second layer of authentication that requires a code from a trusted person after a valid login password has been provided.

About

The problem and solution

The Problem:
Sometimes we don't trust our employees enough🙄🤪. Odoo allows login from anywhere and system users can log in at will from any device without approval from the management.

The Solution:
For selected users, after they provide a valid login email and password at the login screen, a token will be generated and sent to an email (code can also be accessed by the system administrator from the backend). Then the user will have to get the authentication for a successful login.
It can't get more secure than this!!!

Features

What this module does

Two-factor authentication for activated users.
Very secure login

Activation

How to use

Live Video
After installation,
  1. Go to the users, you want to restrict
  2. Go to the login authentication tab
  3. Set the authentication mail
It may either be a trusted third-party email, the same User's email, or an invalid email (in case you only want to get the authentication code from the Latest Token field
You're good to go, next time the User tries to log in, they will have to be authenticated twice to gain access to the system:
  • The first one is done with a valid password
  • The second one with the code that will be sent to the assigned email (not login email)
