Step 1: Install the Module
Add the module to your Odoo addons path, update the Apps list, search for Login as Any User, and click Activate.
Step 2: No Access by Default
After installation, no users have access by default. The user-switch icon will not be visible to anyone until permission is granted.
Step 3: Grant Access & Enable Icon
Go to the user settings and enable the
"Allow to Login as Any User" security group
for the users who should have permission.
Once enabled, the user-switch icon will immediately appear
in the top menu (Systray) for that specific user.
Step 4: Click Icon to View Users
Click the icon to open a dropdown list showing all available users along with their profile images for easy identification.
Step 5: Switch to Another User
Click on any user from the list. You will be instantly redirected
and logged in as the selected user.
Even if the selected user does not have the
"Allow to Login as Any User" group enabled,
the icon may still appear because the session was switched
by an authorized user.
This visibility only applies during the switched session.
Step 6: Normal Login Without Access
If you log in normally using a user account that does
not have the
"Allow to Login as Any User" security group enabled,
the user-switch icon will not be visible.
This ensures the feature remains fully restricted and accessible
only to authorized users.
