How to use Inventory Capacity

Pre-conditions

• Go to Inventory → Configuration → Settings →
• In Operations section, check the Packages option
• In Products section, check the Units of Measures & Product Packaging option
• In Warehouse section, check the Storage Locations & Storage Categoriesoption
• Click Save to finish

Full Capacity Warning

• Create a new Storage Categories, then define the Capacity by Product
• Create a new Location and fill it with the newly created Storage Category earlier
• Create a new Putaway Rule and fill it with the newly created Storage Category earlier
• Receipt from a Purchase Order will be directed to the earlier Location
• The On Hand of that product will now have some quantity located at that Location
• If the capacity of that Location is maximized already, then it will notify that the Receipt's destination location will be directed to the WH/Stock location

Nearest Warehouse

• Define an address for a warehouse, then inside the Partner record, go to the Partner Assignment tab, and click on Compute based on address button
• In the Warehouse itself, the Longitude and Latitude fields will be updated with computed coordinates
• In Purchase Order, it will compare the coordinates between the Vendor and your Warehouses. Then it will automatically chose the closest Warehouse to the Vendor address.
• The same process to take the nearest Warehouse to get the goods from, will be applied to Sales Order as well
