You can use this module to check the control ciffer of the EAN 13 code.
The EAN 13 code is a 13 digit code, where the first 12 digits are the product code and the last digit is the control ciffer.
The control ciffer is calculated by the following steps:
- Add the digits in the odd positions together.
- Multiply the result by 3.
- Add the digits in the even positions together.
- Add the result from step 2 and step 3 together.
- Subtract the result from step 4 from the next highest multiple of 10.
- The result from step 5 is the control ciffer.
You can also generate a new EAN 13 by setting up a sequence in the settings menu.
It releys on parameter 'ean13_supplier_number_and_country' in 'ir.config_parameter' to be set to the supplier number and country code. It shall be exactly 7 digits long and only contain numbers.
