Simple Advance Reordering Rules

Simple Advance Reordering Rules module facilitates the management of reordering rule templates, enabling automatic creation and customization of order points based on defined criteria and historical sales data.
The minimum and the maximum daily sales will be collected from the mean average daily sales from sales module and POS with options from sales history of the date range given and rounded up to the products pack size and multiplied by Minimum Stocking Days and Maximum Stocking Days respectively.
This will set the quantity for each product’s minimum and maximum reordering per warehouse.
Reordering is based on sold products, if any has no sale then the reorder will not occur.
Once items has hit minimum, an alert is generated for immediate reordering.
If you mark ‘Set Trigger to Manual‘, RFQ’s won’t be sent automatically to the Purchase since the trigger will be manual.

Reordering Rules Templates

  • Select the warehouse of your choice. You can create as many reordering rule templates as the number of warehouses you have. Each warehouse will have it's own reordering rules.
For instance if you have four warehouses and you add same product, the product will have four reordering rules each linked to the warehouse hence giving you accurate min and max quantity based on the sales of that warehouse.
  • Check “Auto minimum” or “Auto maximum” or both as shown above.
  • The criteria fields for either one or another are visible now.
  • Check "Auto Update Reordering Rule Dates" which will move the days by one day forward and the cron runs once a day. This will allow the reordering rules to use recent sales history data which is more accurate.
  • Check "Set Trigger to Manual", which will set the trigger from "Auto" to "Manual". By enabling this, RFQ's won't be sent to the purchase module automatically so you will have to go to the Replenishment and Order once. Do not check it if you want RFQ's to be sent automatically to you Purchase Module.
  • Activating the “Create Rules Automatically” on a reordering rule template, which allows you to select a list of products.
Any change on the template will then be replicated on the products Reordering Rules. The change is not immediate as it is processed by a scheduled action.
  • Indicate the minimum stocking days which will help calculate the minimum stock level that you want to maintain.
  • Indicate the maximum stocking days which will help calculate the maximum stock level that you want to maintain.
  • Select an option in Sales History Days field of range of days sales made to evalute. For every product a history of the resulting sales for every move in such range and the location given on the Orderpoint template will be obtained.
  • Select a criteria method to compute the minimum and maximum quantity; by default Average is selected which is recommended:
    • Maximum: the maximum sales value for the given period.
    • Most frequent: the median of the history of sales values for the specified range. Useful when a large amount of history values are obtained, as it tends to avoid deviation caused by extreme values in a common avarage.
    • Average: Arithmetic mean of the sales history.
    • Minimum: the minimum sales value for the given period.
  • Lastly, you can promptly create Reordering Rules for a product or a product template using the “Reordering Rules Generator”. Note that it will replace all the existing rules for the product. You will usually NOT want to use this feature on products that have Automatic Reordering Rules Templates.

Reordering Rules Templates.

This is how the template will look like once you fill it.

Select the products.

Click on "Add a line" to add the products that you want to create reordering rules for.

  • Reordering rule templates can be configured in “Inventory > Configuration > Products > Reordering Rule Templates”.
  • We have two cron jobs in this module:
    1) Reordering Rule Templates Generator - This cron job updates the reordering rules templates that in turn updated Products reordering rules.
    2) Reordering Rule Dates - This cron job updates dates of the reordering rules template based on the span of the days selected. You can set to update in Minutes, hours, daily, weekly e.t.c.
The frequency of the cron that updates the Reordering Rules and Reordering Rule Dates can be configured in “Settings > Technical > Automation > Scheduled Actions”. The name of the scheduled action is “Reordering Rule Templates Generator” and "Reordering Rule Dates".
  • By activating the “Create Rules Automatically” on a reordering rule template, you are able to select a list of products.
Any change on the template will then be replicated on the products Reordering Rules.
The change is not immediate as it is processed by a scheduled action.
  • Aditionally, minimum and maximum quantity fields can be computed automatically if desired for the set of products and according to the desired criteria for the time range given. To do so:
1). In an Orderpoint template, check “Auto minimum” or “Auto maximum” or both.
2). The criteria fields for either one or another are visible now.
3). Select a time range of sales to evalute. For every product a history of the resulting sales for every sale in such range and the location given on the Orderpoint template will be obtained.
4). Select a criteria method to compute the minimum o maximum quantity:
    • Maximum: the maximum sales value for the given period.
    • Most frequent: the median of the history of sales values for the specified range. Useful when a large amount of history values are obtained, as it tends to avoid deviation caused by extreme values in a common avarage.
    • Average: Arithmetic mean of the sales history.
    • Minimum: the minimum sales value for the given period.
