Overview
The Tools Equipment Management addon for Odoo simplifies equipment handling with requests, approvals, issuance, returns and calibration. Featuring kanban tracking, barcode scanning and automated reminders, it helps storekeepers and managers ensure accountability and timely equipment management.
Key Features
Create, approve and issue tool requests: Secure access with separate logins ensures accountability and streamlined approvals.
Kanban view for equipment status: Visualize all equipment states in real time for better tracking and management.
Barcode scanning integration: Storekeepers can scan product barcodes to instantly view related equipment details and return dates.
Automated notifications: Requesters receive instant messages when tools are issued.
Daily overdue reminders: Automated emails remind requesters as the tool return date nears. If overdue, notifications are sent daily until the tools are returned.
Calibration request management: Create calibration requests with automated email alerts based on upcoming due dates.
Manage the tools equipment request
Kanban view of equipment states
In Tools Management --> Equipment --> Tools Issue Request.
We can easily see all the equipment's state in kanban view.
When the user creates a tool request and submits it, the state changes to "Submitted" and the Submit button is hidden.
Approvals stage of tools request
In Tools Management --> Approvals --> All Approvals
When you select "All Approvals" from the manager login, displays all requests assigned to managers.
In Tools Management --> Approvals --> Approvals To Review
When you select "Approvals To Review" from the manager login, only show approvals that are assigned to the login manager.
Issue request for the tools
In Tools Management --> Equipment --> Tools Issue Request
The storekeeper scans the manager approved product, which automatically updates the equipment details and return date and then issues the approved tools request.
After issuing the request, an email will be sent to the requester from the store keeper.
Process for receiving the issued tools
In Tools Management --> Equipment --> Tools Receive
After receiving the tools from the requester, the store keeper can receive the tools.
Once the Receive button is clicked, the issued state is updated to Available and the actual return date is updated automatically.
Calibration request
Store keepers get reminders based on certification due.
Store keeper creates a calibration request.
A calibration vendor checks the accuracy and gives certification.
In Tools Management --> Calibration --> Calibration Request
Scanning the product automatically displays the related equipment and calibration vendor.
When the calibration date is updated in the In-Progress state, the next due date, reminder date and daily reminder date will be updated automatically.
Once the calibration date is updated, the request is moved to Certified.
