🚀 Quick Start Guide
Follow these simple steps to get your WhatsApp integration up and running with Odoo 17 Discuss.
Step 1: Get API Keys And Account Id
⟹ Obtain your API Key and Account Id from your WhatsApp API provider(api.net). These credentials are essential for authenticating your Odoo instance with the WhatsApp API.

Step 2: Configure Odoo Company
⟹ Go to Settings → Companies → Your Company and enter:
⟹API Key
⟹Secret Key

Step 3: Create WhatsApp Templates
⟹
Build dynamic message templates using fields from models like sale.order
,
account.move
,
purchase.order
,
etc.
⟹
Attach reports and customize file names dynamically (e.g., Invoice_1234.pdf
).

Step 4: Set Recipient Field
⟹
Define the correct field for recipient lookup (e.g.,
partner_id
or employee_id
).
This ensures your messages reach the right contact.

Step 5: Send Messages
⟹ Click the Send via WhatsApp button on any supported document within Odoo.
⟹ Send to single or multiple recipients, streamlining your communication.
⟹ Attach reports based on the template for comprehensive messages.
⟹ Ensure phone numbers start with the country code (e.g., +1 for the US, +92 for Pakistan) for successful delivery.

Step 6: Auto-Attach Reports
⟹ Effortlessly attach PDF reports like Invoices, Quotations, and Purchase Orders directly to your WhatsApp messages with custom filenames for better organization.

Step 7: Track Sent Message Recipients
⟹ Each message sent is recorded by saving the recipient's mobile number and name. This gives you a clear record of who received your communications.

Step 8: Enable Incoming Messages
⟹ In your API.net.pk dashboard:
⟹ Go to Hosts → WhatsApp.
⟹ Enable both Message Receiving and Receive Chat to ensure Odoo captures all incoming communications.

Step 9: Configure Webhook URL
⟹ Set the webhook URL to:
https://yourdomain.com/whatsapp/msgs
This URL allows incoming WhatsApp messages to be forwarded directly to your Odoo instance.

Step 10: View Replies in Odoo Discuss
⟹ Replies appear under the respective conversation in Discuss, keeping all your communications organized.
⟹ Only known contacts (who received your message first) are accepted to maintain security and relevance.
⟹ Supports both text and images for rich, interactive conversations.
