Concept
A subscription business is a business model in which customers have to subscribe to products/services and can pay monthly, weekly, or yearly usage fees. Movie and streaming services, software products, etc. are popular subscription products nowadays.
The Subscriptions module helps you set up and manage pricing for your business' subscription products.
Manage subscription products
1. Create subscription products
On the product interface, enable the Can be Subscribed option for products that you want to sell under a subscription program.
Note: To create a subscription product, it is necessary to select the product type as Service.
2. Configure pricing for subscription products
The Time Based Pricing tab allows you to configure the pricing structure for a subscription product, which includes:
- Recurring Sale Price: recurring subscription price for the product.
- Unit: define how should the subscription price be calculated, it could be by hour, day, month, or year.
- Recurring discount: create recurring discount policies that are allowed to apply.
Once the subscription products are configured, you can manage and use them in the process of buying/selling your subscription services.
